With an impressive kitchen layout that would probably be the envy of every chef, it is not surprising that Ultimo is dubbed one of the finest Italian restaurants in town by critics, for their amazing quality and consistency in their dishes, excellent service and very reasonable prices. Failing to make a reservation beforehand will leave you to waiting at least a good hour for a table, especially on the weekends. Believe me, this place is that busy! Once seated, you will notice everyone from left to right enjoying big frozen margaritas the size of big gulps. Just a mouthful will give you one of the most pleasurable brain freezes of your life.

If you were in need of a carb fix, Ultimo offers a huge selection of pastas to choose from such as the penne, cannelloni, tagliatelle and also risotto. The Spaghetti Alle Vongole and Gamberi e Capesanteis can be described as a seafood fest of fresh clams, shrimp, mussels, scallops with capsicum and white wine sauce and are possibly the finest seafood spaghettis on the Island. The capsicum accentuates the freshness of the seafood and would make the perfect choice for your last request, if you accidentally stumbled on to death row.

If you are craving for some seriously delicious meat, try the Fillet mignon which is precisely 200 grams of pan fried Australian tenderloin prepared to your preference accompanied with silky potato puree and garlic flavored sauce. Not taking any credit away from the Fillet mignon, we chose to try the Filletto Al pepe Verde which is a 250 grams of tenderloin steak with green pepper sauce served with delicious panna potato on the side. This dish is unlikely to disappoint anyone with a sense of taste. Thankfully all of their main courses are available in medium or large portions, and with the quality of food this good do not feel guilty about having to order and eat 2 or more servings.

If you still have room to squeeze, the Ultimo Pizza is the ultimate guilty pleasure. Cooked in an Italian wood burning stove the thin crust pizza is luscious with generous portions of mozzarella cheese, bacon, sausage and mushroom.

Lastly are their originally prepared desserts. The obvious favorite is the very scrumptious white chocolate crème brulee and you would be lucky even to try some if already sold out. But then there are their other favorite desserts as well such as the warm melted chocolate cake with fresh passion fruit and banana flambé. A fiery way to end your ultimate dining experience at this amazing establishment.
